Hey there. I've been into game making since about 2008, but it wasn't until 2014 I was able to complete my first ever game! The game was started and finished in a single week for a contest. In one week I was able to do what I struggled with for 6 years. 6 WHOLE YEARS. HILARIOUS ISN'T IT.

3) Or instead of using variables, just turn a switch ON when you need to talk to that person, and then turn it OFF when you've talked to him. I think.
True, and swtichs are easier so its probably a better idea, but depending on how long/ big your game is, you might want to save swtichs for Doors and Chests since there is a limit to how many you can have (Like 5000 xD)
RPG Game Making
I think I started when I was 16 also, and it really depends on what you want to do. If you want to create some sort of epic masterpiece then no, not yet xD Just start of simple and slowly work your way up. Create a hero who has to go in a dungeon and save someone. very simple, even for beginners, RPGmaker has it all layed out for you in an easy to use database, they may be even easier programs out there, its worth a try, if you don't get the hang it, look for tutorials or throw your computer screen out the window.

HI! I know ALL of you guys don't know me, but I have been away for 4 months I think... Anywasye, I thought about making a game (Again). So, Upon telling my friends this, One of them challenged me. Of cource I took the challenge.
Now to the questions...
1. Charas - I went to the site and I made my own sprites... But for the "Right hand" and the 'Left hand" thing for the character creator isn't working. I seperated them like the other sprites but it didn't work neither. So I read the details of the RPG2k3 sprites. So I read it, and I followed everything, and it's still not working...
Anyone help me? (This is confusing to read, but it's more confusing to write!)
2. Chipsets - I'm having trouble with the house... The roofs dosen't fit with the other roofs... How am I suppose to make a house without a decent roof? Can anyone help me with a sprite house? Or just tell me if there is another way.
3. Events - I pretty much know how to do events and stuff but, How do I cancel an event by altering an event? For example. I can't go out the city because I have to talk to a certain person. But, when I talked to him, I can get out... So how do I do that?

1) I gather by that you mean your created your own battlecharacter? and are you trying to do the poses? If you used an online generator/ creator, then you should be fine, I suggest using a different one if you don't know how to edit the sprites. Link me to the creator you used or put up the sheet so I can look at it for you, but I don't completely understand what you mean.
2) If your using the RTP (the set that comes with the program) Then everything you need is there, just got to fiddle around with all the roof tiles. You should be able to make a roof for all different shapes and sizes, I still don't mean by "The roofs dosen't fit with the other roofs" perhaps you should make them like the other houses for now?? ???
3) Now this one I do know! So lets start from the top. (this will also allow you to create working Treasure Chests)
Right click the exit in 3rd layer mode
Type your message like "I can't go out with talking to so and so"
Then do a movement event, select Hero and put Move up (or whenever is s step away from the exit)
Make sure the Trigger is Touched by Hero and event layer is Below Hero
Create a new page and on that second page place your teleport event and your Trigger.
Now on the side tick the Variable box
Set Variable equal to 1
Set and call the variable something easy to remember
Now right click on your man that has to be talked to
Put your message or whatever.
Now click on Variable Operations
On single variable and select the same one we used on the exit event
Click Set Equal and put it on number 1
And there we have it, that was written quickly and I haven't done a tut or anything before, its step by step so you should be ok, even if it looks confusing its not. Of course that was very basic and you can build upon that and do it however you like (A Person must be in your party, and item is needed etc look for Variable and Switch tuts for more help and to advance on that)
If you don't quite get that then i'm sure someone else will come along and help you out a bit better ;D
Final Fantasy XIII
For me FFXII was an epic fail, I didn't like any of it, (I don't remember the soundtrack :-\) it was nice seeing them do something different, but the plot did not suck me in at all, which is why i'm not looking forward to this much, plus I don't have a PS3 (yet). I think they're slowing going downhill since they became Square-Enix, well we'll have to wait and see...actually, there was one good thing...BALTHIER, BABY! ;D

1) These screenshots are from my very first (currently in production) game called Collison Of Villnoire.
2) I use RPG maker 2003 (and those are where my screenshots are from)
3) I'm going to makes a Game page today, I tried yesterday but my screenshots were not accepted, but I know why.
4) I dabble in creating/ ripping/ editing my own resources but i'm not brillant at it, I certainly didn't make any of those xD I get my resources from a varity of diffferent sites, some of which I can't remember right now...I have a huge bunch of them on my PC, since this site is a little lacking (take no offence) from what i've seen, i'll happily upload them all (crediting all the right people).
5) There really is nothing wrong with the RTP and I do use it now and then, its just because its heavily used now-a-days that I stay away from it :-\

Do i have Map making Skills?
Can I make decnt maps? or am I just fooling myself? I do try hard and stay away from the RTP as much as I can. (if i've done something wrong, sorry, still new)

Hard Parts of Game Making?
I always found map making easy, its making big ones thats tough, i'm probably the only person who found making a world map hard (if your games has one) I don't grab the pencil tool, hold down the mouse and hope for the best, it takes me ages. Creating orignal puzzles and conversations that aren't wooden, thats my MT Everest XD

Just a 17 year old male living in London, nothing special about me, just living life and trying not to get stabbed, mugged, shanked or whatever its called nowadays. I'm down-teh-earth, a little crazy so never take me too seriously xD. I love using RPGmaker 2003/ 2000 (Even though I've never finished a game) i'm a noob by no means, but I don't know the real complicated stuff. I just like to tell stories. I like to help as many people out as I can, I think "likes to help people out" should be my middle name, but then i'd just look stupid. I'll be as active as I can be, this site looks very nice.
Oh yeah for all you lazy guys, call me LWG.
